Oulu is the European Capital of Culture in 2026, and the opening festival launched the programme for the year. The large-scale city event brought together local and international artists and audiences from across Finland and Europe.
The opening festival marked the symbolic start of the Capital of Culture year and created a strong first impression of Oulu’s cultural identity and international direction.
As a high-profile event, the production required reliability, flexibility and the ability to coordinate several separate event areas simultaneously across Oulu city centre.
Our delivery included:
LED screen control for the main stage
Remote control of two fixed LED screens in Oulu city centre, including the safety protocol
Full technical production for the Pekuri event stage, including display solutions for exhibitors
Lighting for the entrance gate to the opening festival area
